Loring Park District
Surrounding the Convention Center on the southern edge of downtown Minneapolis, the Loring Park District is a walkable residential neighborhood of leafy streets, historic institutions, cultural attractions, turn-of-the-century apartments, and modern condominium towers wrapped around the verdant Loring Park.
With more than 8,000 residents and some 300 businesses, the Loring Park District is home to several of the region’s most popular attractions and institutions including the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, Orchestra Hall, Loring Park, Peavey Plaza, Nicollet Mall, the Minneapolis Convention Center, Loring Greenway, Parade Athletic Fields, the Hennepin Avenue retail, arts, and entertainment corridor and the Eat Street restaurant district.
Several regionally significant religious institutions also call the Loring Park District home including Westminster Presbyterian Church, Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, and the Basilica of Saint Mary.
The Loring Park District is also home to several major educational institutions such as Minneapolis Community and Technical College, University of Saint Thomas, and Dunwoody College of Technology, as well as, several major hotels like the Hyatt Regency, Hilton Hotel, Doubletree Guests Suites, Hotel Ivy, and Millennium Hotel.
